In Memory of Roy Delbert Renfrow, Sr.
1925 - 2009.
The next Renfrow reunion will be 9/18/2010 at the Old Renfrow Cemetery, Little Reedy, KY.
(The 2009 reunion pictures are now posted.)
Renfrow: the name has changed a bit over the centuries. About every spelling imaginable has been used.
Depending on where you look, it's Scottish, Scottish/Gaelic, Welsh, or something called Brythonic, or maybe it's Cumbric instead. Well, whatever.
It's a place-name, coming from a town (Renfrew) and the surrounding area (Renfrewshire) in Scotland.
Generally, it seems to be accepted as meaning "point of the current", possibly referring to it being located at the point that the rivers Gryfe, and Clyde meet.
(Trivia: Renfrew is a Royal Burgh, and the current Baron Renfrew is England's Prince Charles.)
The purpose of this site is to share the genealogical information that I've ended up with. You're welcome to contribute, provide corrections, and even distribute this information as you like- as long as it's distributed freely.
